The Newman family has been conducting business at the Four Corners for more than 30 years. Long-time resident of Brookfield, the Newmans have forged a solid reputation of being an honest and fair business in the community that supports local organizations such as the Lions club, Brookfield High School Band, and local sports teams.
George Newman moved to Brookfield in 1965. He attended and graduated from Brookfield High School in 1969 and from Quinnipiac College in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. While in college George worked at Texaco at the Four Corners and eventually took over from his employers. When it became clear that the oil company wanted a convenience store he moved his repair operations across the street to Getty. The next step naturally in business would be to acquire property for a permanent location without the oversight of an oil company. This happened in 1994 when yet again, across the street, he purchased the Gulf station.
Through the years, the Newmans have been able to prosper and provide the community with a business that has attempted to hold itself to a higher standard, that has enabled a small business and its employee’s to survive through tough economic times. Four Corners Gulf holds itself accountable on every aspect of its repairs through timely estimates, quality parts, labor, and on-time delivery.
